The 2021 Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Victoria Park will be held:

  • at 7.30 pm,
  • on Monday 11th October
  • at The  Riverside Centre,
    Clockhouse, Ashford, Kent, TN23 4YN

The Agenda for the Meeting is:

  1. Apologies
  2. Welcome
  3. Chair
  4. Finance
  5. Constitution review and approval
  6. Election
  7. Project update
  8. Events
  9. AOB

Under Item 5.: The management Committee wish to propose a change to the constitution at the meeting amending paragraph 19, currently:

"The honorary officers of the Management Committee shall be:

  • The Chairperson
  • The Treasurer
  • The Secretary"

(Read the current constitution)

To:

"The Management Committee shall be comprised of the following officers:

  • Chair (Executive Officer)
  • Treasurer (Executive Officer)
  • Secretary (Executive Officer)
  • Fundraising Officer
  • Communications Officer
  • Volunteering Officer
  • Youth Engagement Officer
  • Conservation Officer
  • Events Officer
  • Sports Officer"

Anyone interested in taking on any of the roles or wanting more

Events Officer

The Friends of Victoria Park are seeking to expand their committee. Among other voluntary roles to be filled is

Events Officer

  • Advising on and safely facilitating the Group’s events strategy and calendar.
  • Collaborating with all members of the Management Committee to maximise the benefit of the Group’s event calendar.
  • Collaborating with the Executive Officers to ensure practical support is available for the delivery of the events calendar.
  • Reporting on events at Management Committees (when requested/as needed) and AGMs.

Sports Officer

The Friends of Victoria Park are seeking to expand their committee. Among other voluntary roles to be filled is

Sports Officer

  • Advising on and safely facilitating the Group’s planned sport events.
  • Collaborating with the Communications Officer to promote the Group’s planned sport events.
  • Collaborating closely with the Events Officer to ensure a practical events calendar.
  • Reporting on sports at Management Committees (when requested/as needed) and AGMs.

Youth Engagement Officer

The Friends of Victoria Park are seeking to expand their committee. Among other voluntary roles to be filled is

Youth Engagement Officer

  • Championing the views of young people using Victoria Park.
  • Advising on and facilitating the Group’s youth engagement strategy.
  • Collaborating with partners (e.g. ABC) to involve and welcome young people into the park.
  • Reporting on youth engagement at Management Committees (when requested/as needed) and AGMs.

Volunteering Officer

The Friends of Victoria Park are seeking to expand their committee. Among other roles to be filled is

Volunteering Officer

who's responsibilities will be:

  • Advising on and facilitating the Group’s volunteering strategy, including leading the Group’s monthly litter picks.
  • Collaborating with the Communications and Membership Officers to promote and grow the Group’s volunteer corps.
  • Collaborating with all members of the Management Committee to maximise the benefit of the Group’s volunteers.
  • Reporting on volunteering at Management Committees (when requested/as needed) and AGMs.

October Litter Pick

Our next monthly litter pick will be held:

  • at 9.30 am
  • on 2nd October 2021
  • meeting outside the Bowls Centre.

We can provide equipment, but suggest wearing appropriate clothing for the weather, sturdy shoes, and if you have them a pair of gardening gloves.

First Litter Pick for 2021

To celebrate the Great British Spring Clean, our monthly litter picks will finally be returning this weekend.

The weather is looking good! It’s a great way to meet others, enjoy the outside space and feel good.

If you would be interested in joining us then please contact us to let us know which of the two sessions you would like to attend.

  • 9.30 – 11.30 am, or
  • 12.30 – 2.30pm.
  • on Saturday 5th June
