Volunteers, led by Aniko Szocs of Keep Ashford Clean, who gathered in Victoria Park to clear litter today, 19 January, were joined by Amy Casey, Ashford Borough Council’s newly appointed Waste and Recycling Education Officer.

Together they succeeded in clearing 11 bags of recycling and 8 bags of general waste together with a child’s scooter, a shopping trolley, a no parking sign and other discarded items.

Keep Ashford Clean undertake frequent litter picks in open spaces in Ashford. Their next litter pick is on 16 February at Singleton Lake. Another litter pick is planned in Victoria Park to mark the Great British Spring Clean on 23 March.
